London 29th September 2004, Casio is proud to announce the release of its QT-6000, the POS terminal which puts the staff and management of hotels, restaurants and pubs in touch with the future of hospitality.
Similar to its predecessor the QT-2100, the QT-6000 has shared check tracking, printer sharing and menu prompts. However, this innovative model also boasts a large user-friendly 12.1 inch touch screen with colour themes that can be selected to fit the atmosphere of the venue, a variety of key sizes and colourful bitmap images. It also has a small footprint, a sturdy base and wireless or Ethernet connectivity. The following options available are:
· Magnetic card reader
· 3 colour backlit / rear remote customer display
· High speed external thermal printer (Casio UP-360)
For the staff, the QT-6000 is much more visual so instead of dark text and numerical buttons, its brightly lit screen and ability to display pictures of staff, products and money makes it easier to view. Furthermore, the prompt system which reduces the number of touch screen presses necessary to view and register transactions makes it easier and quicker to use. The latter is particularly useful with meals where the staff is prompted for the customer’s choice of vegetables, sauces and cooking instructions.
From the manager’s perspective, the intuitively designed system reduces the time taken to train staff. It is also simple to install, since communications between terminals are made using Ethernet which can be configured easily and accurately with the automatic ID setting function. An optional high speed radio frequency wireless communication function is also available to offer solutions in cases where it is difficult to install wired Ethernet systems.

The QT-6000 was launched at the Casio Dealer Convention in Cheltenham on 22nd September 2004 and will be available from dealers nationwide from October 18th onwards.
